• What is Don Bosco High School (DBHS)? 

Since 2012, when the school was founded by the Salesians of Don Bosco, DBHS has maintained and developed a reputation as a school whereby students make tremendous improvement and many even achieve at the highest level. As a private Catholic secondary school for boys and girls, it aims to send a young persons out into the world who are confident, good Christians, honest citizens and well-equipped to make a significant contribution to society. Students from other denominations and faiths are welcomed and play a full part in the life of the school.

• What is a Salesian philosophy of education? 

In the nineteenth century St. John Bosco created a PREVENTIVE educational system that was radical then and can still surprise people today. Normally education relied on using fear of punishment (REPRESSIVE system) to control students, but Don Bosco’s philosophy was aiming to enable each one to flourish and develop into “good Christians and upright citizens”, largely by eliminating punishment and using principles of REASON, RELIGION and LOVING KINDNESS. In the realm of reason a student learns to relate to oneself, to make free choices and how to accept oneself. Thanks to religion one learns to relate to God and accepts God’s loving presence in life. The loving kindness helps to develop interpersonal relationship that are based on confidence and respect.
