Reflection for Form Four Candidates – June 2026

Reflection for Form Four Candidates

On 20th June 2026, our school witnessed a vibrant and memorable occasion filled with joy, pride, and celebration. Our Form Four students, now approaching their national examinations, gracefully danced and marched into the beautifully decorated hall. The atmosphere was alive with excitement as parents, guardians, teachers, students, and invited guests gathered to mark this important milestone in the learners’ academic journey.

A powerful message was delivered by the Guest of Honour, Rev. Fr. John Musonda, Principal of Don Bosco Technical Institute, Lilongwe (Area 23), and a Member of the Provincial Council of the Zambia-Malawi-Zimbabwe (ZMB) Province. In his speech, “I Gave It My All,” he encouraged students to adopt a positive and focused mindset. He challenged learners to replace the fear-driven question, “What if I fail?” with the empowering thought, “What if I succeed?” He urged them to embrace the power of the present moment, reminding them that success is built not through anxiety about tomorrow, but through disciplined action today. Ultimately, what matters most is the ability to stand with confidence and say, “I gave it my all.”

Director's Message

Gratitude & Commitment

The Director of the School, Rev. Fr. Peter Nguyen, reminded students to appreciate the sacrifices made by their parents and guardians. He emphasized that education is a precious investment—one that deserves gratitude, responsibility, and commitment. He further encouraged the candidates to remain faithful to the Don Bosco way of life, founded upon discipline, hard work, moral uprightness, and loving-kindness in learning and everyday living.

Carry the Flag with Pride

Similarly, the Head Teacher, Michael Kaipa, urged students to carry forward the flag of Don Bosco with dignity and pride. He highlighted the core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, and service to others as guiding principles that should shape their conduct both during and beyond their examinations. He expressed the school's hope that learners would go forth with enlightened minds and uplifted hearts, prepared not only for academic success but also for meaningful service to society.

He also challenged the students to reflect on life's highest ideals—the three transcendentals: goodness, beauty, and truth. Learners were encouraged to seek goodness by choosing what is right and just, to seek beauty by appreciating what uplifts the human spirit, and to seek truth by recognizing that God is the ultimate Truth toward which every sincere search ultimately leads.

In Conclusion

Focus, Gratitude & Moral Clarity

In conclusion, the messages from all the speakers converged into one central call: approach your examinations with focus, gratitude, discipline, and moral clarity. Remember your roots, honour the sacrifices of your parents and guardians, uphold the values of Don Bosco, and trust in the preparation you have undertaken.

As you enter your examinations, carry with you not only knowledge, but also character. And when all is said and done, may you be able to say with confidence:

“I gave it my all.”
